About The Artist

As an artist who must write the obligatory artist statement, I’d like to say that I’ve been creative
my whole life.  I’d like to, but I can’t.  When I moved to the Smokey Mountains, my sisters would
come to visit from Michigan and we would travel throughout Tennessee and North Carolina in
search of interesting cities and galleries. It seems that everywhere we went the area was rich with
the coolest arts and crafts.  Soon I just had to be a part of it.  I tried my hand at more than a few
mediums but it wasn’t until I stumbled onto polymer clay that I felt excited about the exploration
of it.

I knew I had two very different sides to me and it’s evident in my work.  I like very clean lines and
a contemporary look, which is evident in my jewelry line.  I’m also very drawn to whimsy and
humor.  I’ve recently headed in this direction with my figurative sculpture and boxes.

Although I’ve been at this awhile now, I feel as though I’m just beginning.  I can’t
wait to see where
it takes me next and I hope you’ll check back to see where I’ve gone.
